Mumbai : Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon was held on 24th July 2022 as a live event in Chennai and as a virtual run between 24-31 July 2022, for participants who choose to maintain social distancing protocols. There were 5329 participants in the live event in Chennai and 534 registrations for the virtual run.
Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon is an initiative that encourages participants to lead a fit and positive lifestyle while inspiring others. Hexaware, ‘The Healthy Way of Life’ company, is the title sponsor of the event.
The Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon race began when flags were waved at the start line by the Health Minister of Tamil Nadu, Ma Subramanian, our CEO R Srikrishna and COO Ram Singampalli. The final group of runners were Ploggers (joggers who gather litter while running – from the Swedish term for “pick up”) who cleaned up the streets as a part of #RunClean initiatives.
Hexaware’s COO, Ram Singampalli, and the Health Minister of Tamil Nadu, Ma Subramanian, contributed to the main cause of the Expo Day by donating 250 prosthetic legs for specially-abled people at the Hexaware DRHM 2022 Expo in Chennai.
A total of INR 35,00,000 was raised through this event and will be benefiting some worthy causes, such as:
· Supporting frontline Covid-19 workers
· Helping FREEDOM Trust distribute prosthetic limbs
· Aiding the International Foundation for Crime Prevention and Victim Care to support women who are victims of domestic violence
“We appreciate Hexaware’s involvement in this drive, a title sponsor that stood by us at every stage of the Dream Runners Half Marathon 2022. Their sponsorship has helped our social causes connect with a greater audience. The generous contribution allowed us to extend a good quality and near-perfect event to the running community of Chennai. The presence and enthusiastic participation of many runners from Hexaware, including the CEO, COO and other top-level management, demonstrated their faith in us as organizers and support to the event.” – Race Director, DRHM.
“Let us Run So they can Walk. A fantastic cause to run for. And after a gap of two years, it was great running the DRHM with colleagues, friends, and fellow runners – thanks to everyone who made it happen. Looking forward to more such!” said Subramanyan Ananthanarayanan, Senior Vice President – Manufacturing & Consumer.
