Himachal Chief Minister inaugurates e-udyan portal
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here today inaugurated the e-udyan portal and IHSMS application developed under World Bank funded Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Development Project for providing services of Department of Horticulture.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Management Information System (Integrated Horticulture Sector Management System) has been developed for all G2C services of the Horticulture Department through this portal. He said that all the horticulture related schemes in this portal would be available for farmers and other users.
Jai Ram Thakur said that under the Horticulture Development Project, the beneficiaries will get registration of fruit nursery, demand for plants, demand of horticulture tools, purchase of pesticides, demand of compost for mushrooms, demand for beehive, subsidy etc. and online application facility has also been provided for the services of Horticulture sector.
He said that this portal would also provide online processing facility for the officers of the Horticulture Department, which would take less time to provide services to the horticulturists and would beneficial to work within the time frame of Citizen Charter under Himachal Pradesh Public Service Guarantee Act. He said that this portal would act as a single window for all the facilities of the department so that the farmers could take advantage of all the facilities from home.
Jai Ram Thakur urged the farmers to make maximum use of this portal. He directed the officers and officials of the Horticulture Department to immediately provide the information required by the farmers through this portal. He said that this would be helpful in reducing the movement of people in the offices of the department and this portal would play an important role in maintaining social distancing as per the guidelines issued in the wake of COVID-19.
The Chief Minister said that in the video conferencing organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Chief Ministers of the country, recently, he had urged the Prime Minister to set up an alternate market to sell the produce of the farmers to avoid inconvenience, due to frequent closure of Azadpur Mandi of Delhi because of increase in cases of coronavirus.
Horticulture Minister Mahender Singh Thakur apprised the Chief Minister of various features of Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Development Project.
Chief Whip Narender Bragta, Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Additional Chief Secretary Health R.D. Dhiman, Secretary Horticulture Amitabh Awasthi, Project Director Debasweta Banik, Director Horticulture M.M. Sharma were also present on this occasion.
