Himachal Governor honours nurses on International Nurses Day
On the occasion of International Nurses Day Governor Bandaru Dattatraya honoured nurses at Raj Bhavan today.
He said that efforts and dedication put forward by nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic are impeccable. The nurses have risked their own life to save the lives of others. He said it is important to salute the contribution of nurses on the International Nurses Day on 12th May and added that the year 2020 was being also celebrated as the ‘International Nurses Year’. Remembering the dedication of Florence Nightingale, the Governor expressed gratitude towards all Corona warriors associated with this profession.
The Governor honoured Principal of Sister Nivedita Government Nursing College (SNGNC), Shimla Usha Mehta, Matron of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Zonal Hospital, Shimla Parveen Sood, Nursing Superintendent of Kamla Nehru Hospital, Shimla Veena Kaundal and Nursing Superintendent of Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla Sunita Sharma.
Secretary to the Governor Rakesh Kanwar was also present on the occasion.
