Shimla: Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that the State Government was committed for developing basic infrastructure in all the educational institutes and providing better environment for studies to the students. He was presiding over a meeting held here today to review the report submitted by State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) on the status of decrease in enrollment rate in the schools of the State.
He said that SCERT had conducted this survey for the first time which would help in formulating better education related policies in the future. As per the report various factors had been mentioned which were responsible for low enrollment rate in the schools including lack of playgrounds, availability of only one teacher, lack of facility of nursery and KG classes etc. besides transfer of teachers during the mid teaching session.
The Education Minister said that the state government had not announced to close any educational institutes’ in the state but the government aims at providing quality education for which the clubbing of near by schools could be considered. This would help in improving teacher-student-school ratio besides ensuring adequate teaching staff.
