Hindi Divas Observed at Sharda University

 

World Hindi Day is being organized by the School of Business Studies on the occasion of World Hindi Day, 10 January at Sharda University, Greater Noida.

World Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 to mark the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference that was held in the year 1975 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The event was integrated by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. However, ever since then, it was first celebrated in 2006 by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The main aim behind the celebration of this day is to promote the Hindi language worldwide. Every year on this day, various events are held in Sharda University by reading out their favorite songs, poems and introducing new Hindi words to the audience. The Chief Guest of this event is Mr. YK Gupta who is a pro- chancellor at Sharda University along with Vice Chancellor Dr. Sibraram Khara with Faculties of Business Studies Dr. Jayanti Ranjan and Dr. Harishankar Shyam.The Motive behind this day is to promote Hindi language on a large scale and promote it in different parts of the world and familiar people too in science and technology area. Hindi language, a symbol of Indian pride and national unity, has a unique place in the world due to its expressive power. World Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 10 January to mark the importance and rich history of Hindi. One of the most spoken languages of the world after English and Mandarin, Hindi has a much older history and is an integral part of Indian culture. World Hindi Day has been celebrated on 10 January every year since 2006 to promote the language globally. Hindi is not the language of any one state but is the most spoken language in the country .Hindi is the soul for the nation and a language is not just a tool for communication, but it also ties people together, said Mr. YK Gupta, pro chancellor at Sharda University.
