Hindi Fortnight – 2023 concludes at ICAR-RCER, Patna; Use simple Hindi in official work: Dr. Anup Das

 

The Closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight was observed at ICAR-RCER, Patna on 29.09.2023. The event commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Shivani, Principal Scientist, in which she gave detailed information about the various competitions organized in the institute during the Fortnight.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Dr. Anup Das, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna. Dr. Bikash Das, Director, ICAR- NRC on Litchi was present as the chief guest of the event. In his address, Dr. Anup Das said that Hindi is not only a language but also the identity of our country. It is connected to our hearts and soul. Our institute is situated under the “A” region. Therefore, it is our moral and constitutional responsibility to do all our official correspondence in Hindi only. “Agricultural scientists must try to get their publications done in Hindi, as it will benefit farmers and other stakeholders”, said Dr. Das. He urged all officers and employees to promote and propagate Hindi as much as possible.

Dr. Bikash Das, Director, ICAR- NRC on Litchi, Muzaffarpur said that Hindi is a language that can integrate all the languages. Working in the official language Hindi is simple and understandable. If official work is done in Hindi, it will be a commendable step in the interest of the nation. He also appreciated the work being done by the Official Language Unit in the Institute.

Dr. Ashutosh Upadhyaya, Co-Chairman, Institute Official Language Implementation Committee said that Hindi is the language of common people. It is undoubtedly a very simple and important medium to convey agricultural information to the farmers. We being the employees of the Central Government must be committed to the development and promotion of the Hindi language. Dr. Upadhyaya also recited his self-written poem on this occasion.

Various Heads of Divisions /Sections also shared their views on the official language during the event.

The Hindi song “Desh Rangeela” sung by Dr. Shivani, Principal Scientist; Dr. Rajni Kumari, Senior Scientist and Mrs. Usha Kiran, Technician added charms to the event. Dr. Bikash Das, Director, ICAR- NRC on Litchi, Muzaffarpur; Dr. Rohan Kumar Raman, Senior Scientist; Dr. Abhishek Kumar, Scientist and Dr. Manisha Tamta, Scientist also sang Hindi songs on this occasion.

All the winners of various competitions organized during the fortnight were awarded certificates and cash prizes. The judges of the competitions were also honoured. The event concluded with the National Anthem.

The event was moderated by Dr. Shivani, Principal Scientist. Mrs. Prabha Kumari, Assistant Administrative Officer proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Shankar Dayal, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. Rajni Kumari, Dr. Tarakeshwar Kumar, Dr. Kumari Shubha, Dr. Manisha Tamta and Umesh Kumar Mishra, Hindi Translator played important roles in organizing the event successfully.
