HiPC 2019 concludes with deliberations on future directions in custom logic advanced architectures for AI & ML in High Performance Computing

Hyderabad: 26th IEEE International Conference on High-Performance Computing, Data and Analytics (HiPC 2019) today concluded at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) today with insightful sessions on AI & ML in High Performance Computing.

The last day of the International conference witnessed Keynote address by Mr. José Roberto Alvarez, Senior Director – Intel Technology and Innovation CTO Office Network and Custom Logic Group. In his addresses, he elaborated on the New World of Heterogeneous Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) High Performance Computing with Intel Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA). Heterogeneous integration in semiconductors has revolutionized the capabilities and agility of FPGAs providing configurable, customized hardware solutions that are well suited for dynamically evolving markets in high performance computing such as AI/ML and Data Analytics, requiring flexibility and configurability as well as low latency. He further said that in a Data-centric world, the challenge in not only to process data but also to move and store said data efficiently. The progress and future directions in custom logic advanced architectures for AI/ML in HPC.

This conference has witnessed 4 Keynote addresses, 7 plenary technical sessions, 4 workshops, 2 tutorials and 3 sponsored technical sessions by eminent industry experts from multiple countries. Several academia and 20 corporates showcased their future products in high-performance computing at the exhibition during the conference. Over last three days, about 1,500 enthusiastic delegates participated in HiPC 2019 at Hyderabad.

Dr. Chiranjib Sur, Conference Chair, HiPC 2019 said “We have witnessed tremendous response and interest from the delegates for the 26th edition of HiPC which successfully concluded. This edition at Hyderabad has seen one of the largest number of delegates since HiPC started 25 years back. We are sure that every participant is going back with some learnings which they can implement in their professional journeys hereon.

Next year we are going to host the 27th edition of this conference in Pune from December 16-19, 2020.”
