Hitachi Energy installs EV at NIT Warangal campus

Warangal : In a step towards accelerating the efforts to achieve sustainable development goals and smart mobility, Hitachi Energy has installed electric vehicles at National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NITW) campus for the students and the faculty. The company has also installed four charging points at various points at the institute.

Speaking at the event, N. Venu, MD and CEO, India and South Asia, Hitachi Energy said that the initiative of contributing Electric vehicles was only to inspire students towards sustainability and protection of the environment. He further urged that there is only one planet, and it is our responsibility to protect the environment.

At the event, Prof. N. V. Ramana Rao thanked Hitachi Energy for the continuous support and contribution to the student community. He said that the students are immensely being benefitted by the smart grid laboratory set up that Hitachi Energy contributed last year. Likewise, the current facility will be of a great source of inspiration to the budding engineers, he said. In 2020, Hitachi Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Telangana, for cooperation to drive smart electric grid technology education, skills development and research activities.

N Venu received Alumni Award 2023 from Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao in recognition of his efforts towards contributing to the carbon-neutral ambitions from setting technical standards to implementing ground-breaking electrification technologies.

Later N. Venu along with Akilur Rahman, Chief Technology Officer at Hitachi Energy India interacted with the students. They shared about the latest technologies like cybersecurity, IOT, Machine Learning. The students had a very engaging interaction and expressed a great learning opportunity. Shri. N. Venu also announced to soon start a lecture series to benefit students to understand various industry practices.

Akilur Rahman made a special mention about his team who spend a good amount of time commissioning the charging stations and other facilities at the Institute.
