HNU Wins Record Result in “Internet Plus” Competition
The 5thChina College Students’ “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition final was held at Zhejiang University between October 9 and 15, 2019. Chinese Vice Premier Sun Chunlan was present.
HNUteam stood out from more than one million teams from 124 countries and regions, and won two gold, three silver, and one bronze awards. The number of its gold awardsrankedjoint 6thamong all Chinese university teams, its best result in the “Internet Plus” competitions.
HNU was also among the 21 general collective award winners, and 23 “Youths’ Red Dream Tour” collective award winners. It is one of the 10 Chinese higher educational institutions which won two collective awards. Chen Zhengqing, Rong Huigui,and other six were honored as national “outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship instructors”. Yu Xiangcheng, deputy secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, was present at and watched the competition.
HNU selected 21 projects last December to compete in the provincial final, and won 11 first (most in Hunan), 9 second, and one third prizes, and a title of outstanding organizer. An Bonan, a doctoral candidate in HNU College of Electrical and Information Engineering, addressed the closing ceremony, on behalf of Hunan. HNU’s six projectsgot access to the national final.
The China College Students’“International Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was initiated by Premier Li Keqiang. The hosts include the Ministry of Education, the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, the Leading Group Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Chinese Academy of Science, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Intellectual Property Administration, the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government. Zhejiang University and the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government organized the competition.
