Hong Kong Polytechnic University Delegation Visits NTU Suzhou Campus
On April 25, Zhao Ruheng, Vice President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and his delegation visited Nanjing University. Zheng Hairong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Nanjing University, Vice President, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, accompanied the visit and attended a symposium at the Suzhou campus.
On behalf of Nanjing University, Zheng Hairong welcomed the arrival of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University delegation. He emphasized that since its establishment, Nanjing University has persisted in breathing with the times and sharing the fate of the nation, and has played an active role in promoting Jiangsu’s modernization and the development of the country’s high-tech industries. Building the Suzhou campus and focusing on the development of new engineering disciplines are important measures taken by Nanjing University to adapt to the new development situation. Exchanges and cooperation between NTU and PolyU have a long history. The two parties have signed a series of agreements in academic research and talent training. In the future, the two universities can further leverage their advantages, broaden communication channels for teachers and students, deepen cooperation, and promote scientific research innovation.
Zhao Ruheng gave a detailed introduction to the development history, talent training, and scientific research of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He pointed out that Nanjing University has a long history and has been at the forefront of the development of Chinese universities for more than 120 years. He hoped that this exchange could further enhance the understanding between the two universities and lay a new foundation for future cooperation.
At the meeting, the two sides also held active discussions on topics such as subject construction, talent exchange, talent training, and industry-university-research transformation.
Before the meeting, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University delegation visited the Suzhou Campus International Academic Exchange Center, Nanyong Tower, Xihe Square and other places.
