Honorary Professorship Conferred upon Professor Arvind Singhal by Amity University

Amity School of Communication (ASCO) and Amity School of Film & Drama (ASFD) conferred Honorary Professorship upon Prof. Arvind Singhal, University of Texas, USA at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus.

Introducing Prof. Arvind Singhal, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, DG, ADSI & President, Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation (ASTIF) shared how Professor Arvind Singhal has made a mark on the lives of millions of people and the society by transforming their lives through his communication strategy and skills. “We are extremely proud that his Indian roots. Although he is now an American but he is propagating Indian ethos, culture and civilization. His mission for 2020 to is to enable his students to build their capacity and realize their full value,” said Dr. Selvamurthy.

Prof. Arvind Singhal expressed his gratitude and happiness while accepting the Honorary Professorship and thanked Amity and its enlightened leadership. “A good metaphor of my life is that may I be surrounded with people who feel that they can be ninjas who are grounded but who are curious and who in some ways will address issues and problems which nobody else will provide. Also, that I may never forget that the purpose of my life is to serve,” shared Professor Singhal.

Ms Pooja Chauhan, Chairperson AHF & ASFD presided over the ceremony and shared how Amity and Professor Singhal shared a common synergy of vision. “We look forward to a fruitful association and we are going to develop wonderful programs for the students along with Prof. Singhal,” shared Ms Pooja Chauhan. She further added how India is a youthful nation and as educationists, academicians, teachers and faculty, there is lot of responsibility upon them to bring the best out of the youth and give them a path to channelize their energies.

Prof. Arvind Singhal is an Indian-born American Social Scientist and Academician globally recognized as a leader in Innovative Technologies. He holds the positions of Samuel Shirley and Edna Holt Marston Endowed Professor of Communication and Director of the Social Justice Initiative in Department of Communication at University of Texas at El Paso. He is also a William J. Clinton Distinguished Fellow at the Clinton School of Public Service and Distinguished Professor in the Faculty of Business Administration, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. He is widely admired for pioneering many innovative techniques towards, addressing issues of public health, malnutrition, social behavior and education and solutions to complex social problems that exist in the communities. Prof. Singhal was accompanied by his mother Ms Shashi Singhal along with friends from the US. Also present on the occasion was Mr. Ashish Chauhan, faculty members and students.
