Horticulture Department organises farmers’ awareness camp at Banihal

Banihal: Department of Horticulture, Ramban, today hosted one day farmers’ awareness camp here at Banihal on Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY)- the scheme being implemented to expand cultivated area with assured irrigation, reduce wastage of water and improve water use efficiency.

The Camp was organized under the aegis of Chief Horticulture Officer, Vaishno Kant Gupta.

The Horticulture Development Officer, Banihal, Rajesh Gupta, Sarpanchs and Panchs, Horticulture Technocrats, besides over 100 farmers of Banihal and adjoining areas attended the camp.

District Level Subject Matter Specialist, Pardeep Gupta discussed all the departmental schemes in detail and urged the farmers to avail maximum benefit for their economic uplift.

He also sought suggestions from farmers for providing hassle free services to them besides addressing their complaints and grievances on-spot in an effective manner.

Sarpanchs, Taiba Akeel and Mukhtyar Ahmed also spoke on the occasion and exhorted up the participants to avail maximum benefit from the on-going schemes launched by the Government for improving socio-economic status of farmers.

On the occasion fruit plants were also distributed to the participants.
