Horticulture deptt to carry fruit plantation on 95 hectares in Rajouri
Rajouri: Horticulture department Rajouri has set a target to plant different fruit varieties over an area of 95 hectares, this year.
In this regard, a plantation drive was today organized here at Tandwal village. Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, in presence of Chief Horticulture Officer, Madan Lal and District Horticulture Officer, Sajid Mustafa started the plantation drive by planting a Mango and a Guava sapling.
The DC said that the drive has been started with the objective to enhance the green cover and create an eco-friendly ambience in the district. He asked the concerned officers to aware the masses about the role of plants in making the environment clean and green. He also urged the public to carry forward the mission of plantation at their own level by planting saplings at their homes at any time of the year. He asked the concerned departments not to restrict the initiative to offices and education institutions but promote the plantation at community level for achieving impressive results.
