HP signs MoU for World class public school in Solan District
Shimla: A MoU amounting to Rs. 250 crore was signed between the state government and Delhi World public school for setting up of a world class public school on Chail road near Kandaghat in Solan district.
The MoU was signed in presence of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here today. Director, Higher Education Dr. Amarjeet Sharma by Chairman of the State Government and Chairman, Delhi World Public School, Balwan Shokeen on behalf of the school.
The school is coming up in 25 bighas of land having 11 towers (buildings). The institute would start functioning from academic session 2020 with total intake of 6000 students, out of which 60 percent would be day scholars and 40 percent as boarders.
Balwan Shokeen apprised the Chief Minister that the institution would have world class facilities and would provided 15 percent rebate in the tuition fee to the students belonging to Kandaghat Tehsil of Solan district.
Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Principal Secretary, Education K.K. Pant and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
