HPE CodeWars 2022 India Edition Concludes; Hits Big with 9000+ Student Registrations

Bengaluru : K-12 coding platform Codingal, in collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE), concluded the second online HPE CodeWars 2022 India Edition, making the event India’s biggest ever coding event for students driving over 9000 student registrations. The one-of-its-kind virtual coding competition received participation from over 1300 schools from across 500 cities pan-India, with Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai driving maximum participation for the competition.

The winning team of the Hackathon and the top-5 winners of the CodeBattle will get an opportunity to engage with HPE Spaceborne Computer-2 (SBC 2), a space-based edge computer currently stationed on the International Space Station (ISS). In addition, they will get to create code and conduct experiments on HPE’s Spaceborne Computer-2 (SBC-2) and receive 1:1 mentoring sessions with Top HPE Technologists.

Students participated both individually and as teams for the hackathon track on the theme – 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, Healthcare and Cyber awareness.

Krish Agarwal & Raj Chute, Grade 10, Podar International School, Gondia, secured first place in the Hackathon for their project titled ‘Medfiles‘. The team received prizes worth ₹50,000 from HPE and certificates for recognition.

Kshitij Sodani of grade 10 from Delhi Public School, Gurugram, secured first place in the CodeBattle. Kshitij also received prizes worth ₹40,000 from HPE and certificates for recognition.

Students from Grade 9 to 12 solved 25 coding problems using programming languages like C, C++, Java, and Python. It tested their coding, mathematical, and logical skills at the highest level possible. The competition was conducted on two tracks – Hackathon and CodeBattle.
