HR Heads from Google, IBM, Oracle and other top 20 campanies participated in HR Conclave at LPU campus
Jalandhar: LPU hosted an HR Conclave under the theme “Driving Sustainable Growth in HR”. It is for the first time that such a big conclave is held in any of other Indian university campuses to understand the close working of educational institutes and the industry.
The HR conclave brought together at LPU campus a galaxy of distinguished professionals of the HR world to deliberate upon the need of transforming HR practices to meet emerging challenges by creating possibilities for the millenials. World renowned HR leader and professionals, from Google, IBM, HP, Oracle, Reliance Industries Ltd., Seagate Technologies, Capgemini, and 20 other companies participated in this conclave.
Organized by Division of Career Services of LPU in Smt Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, the deliberations presented a rare chance to students of MBA, Engineering, and other streams to meet, listen to, and share ideas with the best mind in the field of Human Resources. Packed with brilliant speeches, thought provoking discussions, exciting presentations, and inspiring ideas, the Open House Discussion was focused on deliberating upon HR strategies for knowing company expectations, and preparing students to meet their future requirements.
The context of the deliberations was set by Dr. Parmod Sadarjoshi, Sr. Director, HCM Strategy, APAC Oracle. In his keynote address, Dr. Sadarjoshi underlined the role of technology in the future workplaces, and the need of developing strategies for preparing the millennia’s for the paradigmatic shift. Working in diverse team is one of the most crucial things that HR leaders now look for as quoted by Ms Amreeta Mazumdar, Head- India Techstaffing Google.
Earlier, speaking at the inaugural session, Dr. Shivakumar Rudrappa, Head Talent Acquisition Sodexo, said ‘LPU has an amazing ultramodern infrastructure and every student here is a future professional.’ Mr Partho Ganguly, CEO, XHire, Venture Capital, underlined the importance of HR in acquisition of top notch talent, their development, retention, and rewarding for growth of a business.
Later in the day, 3 Panel Discussions on Talent Acquisition and Management were held simultanously at three venues separately for students of MBA, CSE, CAP, and ECE. This was followed by three separate Master Classes on Future Workplaces, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, followed by an FDP for the faculty. These sessions were suprevised by other wellknown professionals like Ms. Amreeta Mazumdar, Head, India Techstaffing, Google, Dr. Harry Charles Devasagayam, Executive VP, CMRD, Ascend Telecom, and others.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal thanked the delegates for their insightful inputs, and the participants for their intense interaction to make the conclave a great success. The conclave has brought to fore the pertinence of academia working closely with the industry.
