Human-computer Interaction Decoded At Rice University

Elizabeth Petrick, associate professor in Rice University’s Department of History, recently held a workshop class that examined the history of human-computer interaction. In HIST 346 Computers and Society, Petrick set up computers from yore so students could experience the different machines and think through questions of how the computer communicates to them and how they should interact with it.
