Humanitarian Awardee Devangi Dalal Amplifies Awareness of the Urgency of Proper Diagnosis and Rehabilitation with the ‘CHANGE IS HEAR’ Campaign

Distinguished Audiologist and Speech Therapist Devangi Dalal has launched an inspiring campaign, ‘Change is Hear,’ to emphasize the critical importance of early diagnosis and rehabilitation for individuals with hearing impairments.

Throughout history, deaf individuals have often been unfairly stereotyped as “deaf and mute,” with little recognition of their ability to communicate through speech. Devangi Dalal, driven by a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of hearing-impaired individuals, is determined to change this perception.

Dalal’s campaign includes the release of two compelling short films in collaboration with Old Monk Entertainment. These films shed light on the transformative impact of early detection and the potential for individuals with hearing impairments to lead fulfilling lives with the right treatment and technology.

The first short film advocates for Early Detection as an essential step in addressing hearing impairments, emphasizing the need for mandatory hearing screening in neonatal care. This proactive approach aims to significantly reduce the number of hearing-impaired individuals in our country, starting from the earliest stages of life.

The second short film showcases the success stories of individuals who have overcome hearing impairments through proper treatment and technology. It highlights that, with the right support and resources, individuals with hearing impairments can achieve their full potential and lead normal, fulfilling lives.

Devangi Dalal’s ‘Change is Hear’ campaign is a rallying cry for change and a call to action for society to prioritize early diagnosis and rehabilitation for those with hearing impairments. By sharing these impactful films, she hopes to empower individuals, families, and healthcare professionals with the knowledge and motivation needed to make a difference in the lives of the hearing-impaired.

Devangi Dalal’s impact stretches well beyond a single day of commemoration. She mentioned, “Together, we can embark on a transformative journey towards a world, where hearing disabilities can be a history and world will aspire to the beauty of kindness if we make specially abled children equally included in the society.”

The producers of the film Mr Partha Thakur and Mr Joshua Shirsath from Old Monk Entertainment emphasised the importance of this initiative in today’s time as it educates every individual.

As a humanitarian awardee, Devangi Dalal has consistently demonstrated her dedication to improving the quality of life for those with hearing impairments. Through ‘Change is Hear,’ she aims to inspire positive change and greater inclusivity in our society.
