Huntsman empowers students in Padra with digital learning
Baroda : Huntsman Textile Effects, the global leader in innovative and environmentally sustainable dyes, chemicals and digital inks, will lead the launch of the ‘Smart School’ initiative at three government primary schools in Padra Taluka. Over 800 students and teachers will have access to digital learning and tools with the technology-enabled classrooms.
Kavishwar Kalambe, Site Director-Baroda, Huntsman Textile Effects, shares, “Education is the primary way for our youths to learn and grow. By supporting the Smart School initiative and giving these youths access to digital tools, we hope to empower them with a digitally forward mindset to prepare them for future. Huntsman is proud to be able to lead this transformation for our community here.”
The three schools under the ‘Smart School’ initiative are: Lakhadi Kui Primary School, M.B. Thakkar Primary Kumar Shala No.3, and Nana Aekal Bara Primary School. Classrooms will be technology-enabled with interactive flat panels, wireless keyboards and mouse, OPS: Intel Pentium i5 Processor with 256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM that is inbuilt with digital content of GSEB and a smart notebook software.
As an extension of this initiative, a training program is in place to enhance the skillsets of the teachers, and to help them deliver classroom content that is interactive and fun.
Huntsman continues to support the socio-economic development of various small towns and villages as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The program includes a community outreach project with three surrounding villages, focusing on education, health, water and sanitation and animal husbandry.
