ICAR-RCER, Patna Hosts “Ready, Skilled, and Grow” Orientation Training for New Technical and Administrative Personnel

 

The ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region (ICAR-RCER), Patna, has successfully started a three-day orientation training program titled “Ready, Skilled, and Grow” for newly recruited technical and administrative personnel. The program, which commenced on September 17 and will run until September 19, 2024, is designed to foster essential skills, discipline, and dedication among the new recruits.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a rendition of ICAR song led by Dr. Anup Das, Director of ICAR-RCER, in the presence of distinguished guests Dr. A.K. Thakur, Director (Extension Education), BASU, Patna and Dr. A.K. Singh, Director (Research), BAU, Sabour.

Dr. Arti Kumari, Scientist, delivered a warm welcome address, setting the tone for the insightful discussions that followed Dr. Anirban Mukherjee, Scientist introduced the course curriculum. Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, Head, DSEE and Co-Chairman of the program, highlighted the objectives of the training, stressing its significance in shaping the future of the new recruits and enhancing the institute’s overall efficiency. Additionally, Dr. Abhay Kumar, I/C-PME and Convener of this programme, emphasized the pivotal importance of the training in guiding participants’ career development and professional growth.

The program featured an interactive session between the newly recruited personnel and scientists, encouraging collaboration and a positive work culture. During this event, Dr. A.K. Thakur, Director (Extension Education), BASU, Patna emphasized the crucial role that discipline, politeness, and dedication play in one’s professional growth.  He stressed that discipline is the foundation for achieving long-term success, urging the new recruits to maintain a structured and focused approach to their work.

Dr. A.K. Singh echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that dedication to one’s responsibilities goes beyond merely completing tasks. He encouraged the new personnel to adopt a proactive mindset, always looking for opportunities to contribute to the institute’s mission.

Dr. Anup Das concluded by reminding participants to view their work as a temple and urged them to contribute actively to science, society, and institutional development. He also highlighted the value of politeness, noting that respectful communication fosters harmony and strengthens teamwork, both of which are essential for the collective success of any organization.

The program wrapped up with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Banda Sainath, Scientist at ICAR-RCER, Patna. This orientation marks a significant step toward empowering the next generation of technical and administrative staff with the skills and mindset necessary for success.
