ICC organises self-defence program at JNMCH
Aligarh: In accordance with University Grants Commission (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women employees and students in higher educational institutions) regulation 2015, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), Aligarh Muslim University organised a self defence programme recently in which the trainers gave a demonstration of Karate and Taekwondo to the students and employees of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH).
The ICC is constantly endeavouring in its commitment to create awareness and sensitization against sexual harassment, and discrimination in the campus.
The ICC Presiding Officer Prof Shaheena Tarannum and its members including Prof Sangeeta Singhal, Dr Farha Ashhar, Ms Adila Sultana and Mr Mohd Tanveer apprised the audience about Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace and the preventive measures women can take to ensure safety for themselves.
The ICC team thanked Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui, Principal and Chief Medical Superintendent; Prof R Maheshwari, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, and teachers and students of JNMCH for holding the event.
