ICPS Ramban sensitises students about juvenile justice Act, legal rights

 

RAMBAN : The Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), Unit, Ramban on Wednesday organised a one day school level awareness programme on child rights.

The Programme was held under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer, Rahul Gupta at Himkrish High School, Maitra and was attended by CPS, Vikram Singh LCPO, Muddasar Rashid and other staff members of ICPS besides Staff and students of the host school.

Speaking on the occasion, the DCPO sensitized the children about their basic and legal rights. He explained to them different laws related to children including Child Labour Act, POCSO Act and Child Marriage restraint Act.

He said that the District child protection unit has been actively involved in organizing awareness camps regarding child rights and the activities are taking place on a weekly basis under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to mark 75th year of India’s Independence.

Meanwhile, the Principal of school, SK Atri appreciated the ICPS Ramban for organizing such an informative session in her school which would help the students to understand laws and ACTs pertained to them.
