ICRAES 2020 begins at Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh: A two-day International Conference on ‘Recent Advances in Engineering and Science’ (ICRAES 2020) today began at the J N Medical College (JNMC) Auditorium in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to highlight advances in cutting-edge technologies, academic exchanges, breakthroughs in research and technological innovation.

Organised by the Civil Engineering Section, University Polytechnic, the conference has recognized pioneers and practitioners immersed in their respective fields from 14 different European, Pan American, Asian and African countries.

Presiding over the inaugural function, AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor emphasised that these kinds of conferences create an academic environment to help universities move ahead with times.

He added that science and technology advancements have improved everyday life and encouraged us to introduce new academic courses.

Prof Mansoor pointed out that the several new courses including M Tech programmes in artificial engineering and robotics and Post Graduate Diplomas in Industrial Safety and Quality Assurance are about to get started in AMU.

He further said that the Polytechnic in AMU with its highly qualified faculty members and various courses is one of the top polytechnics of the country.

“This conference will provide a platform for academicians, researchers, engineers, industrial participants and students to share research findings with global experts,” said Prof Badrul Hasan Khan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

Prof Mirza Mohd Sufyan Beg, Principal, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology delivered the key note address in the technical session after the inaugural function.

“The conference has received an overwhelming response from across the country and abroad as 315 research papers have been received from the industry and academia,” said Prof Arshad Umar, Principal, University Polytechnic and Chairperson of the conference.

Dr Rizwan Ahmad Khan extended the vote of thanks, while Mr Arshad Husain (Convenor of the conference) conducted the programme.
