ICT for Connecting Humanity: IIIT Delhi hosting the IEEE ANTS 2020 conference

New Delhi: IIIT-Delhi, India’s leading technology, research, and entrepreneurship institute will be hosting the IEEE International Conference on Advanced Networks and Telecommunications Systems (ANTS) 2020 conference. IEEE ANTS is a premier conference on advanced networking and telecommunications topics, which is financially and technically supported by IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc). The conference seeks to bridge the gap between academic research, industry initiatives, and government policies by promoting intense dialogue between academia and industry. This year, the theme is “ICT For Connecting Humanity”.

The COVID-19 pandemic perhaps more than any other event in human history has demonstrated the critical importance that telecommunications infrastructure plays in keeping businesses, governments, and societies connected and running. Because of the economic and social disruption caused by the pandemic, people across the globe rely on technology for information, for social distancing, and working from home. The sector has remained “mission-critical” to keep economies moving.

Professor Emeritus Arogyaswami Paulraj from Standford University, USA, will be gracing the event as the chief guest and inauguration speaker. Prof Paulraj is the inventor and a pioneer of MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) wireless technology, the key to all modern wireless networks.

Each year, many researchers submit proposals for paper presentations. After extensive peer review, the best of the proposals are selected for the conference program, which includes technical papers, tutorials, workshops, panel discussion, early career research etc., designed specifically to advance technologies, systems and infrastructure that are continuing to reshape the world and provide all users with access to an unprecedented spectrum of high-speed, seamless and cost-effective global telecommunications services.

This 4-day event includes several keynote speeches by distinguished speakers from industry, academia and government sectors; panels and forums; technical sessions featuring technical papers extensively reviewed by peers; workshops focusing on the latest trends in various technology; tutorials delivered by experts in respective disciplines.

“These four days will be extremely enlightening for the attendees to advance their knowledge bank regarding the topics and trends in telecommunications that are shaping the future of the whole world. IIIT Delhi, ever since its inception has focused its energy on providing practical education. The institution strives to create market-ready professionals with an innovative game-changing attitude. Bridging the gap between academia and industry is vital for fast-tracking growth and we appreciate and support IEEE ComSoc and IEEE ANTS for this initiative” said Prof. Anand Srivastava, Professor, IIIT-Delhi and General Chair of IEEE ANTS 2020.
