IE University and IE Foundation Launch €5 Million COVID-19 Scholarship Fund

IE Foundation together with IE University has created the IE Resilience Scholarship Fund (COVID-19) with an initial endowment of €5 million to help fund the academic pursuits of outstanding current and future students impacted by the global pandemic.

With the aim of increasing the scope of this fund, IE Foundation will administer contributions from both individual and institutional members of its donor community who are able and willing to help. The fund is targeted at students and future applicants from vulnerable sectors of society in areas of the world most affected by the pandemic.

“We are working to ensure that our students continue with their education and that no one has to delay or interrupt their studies because of the health crisis,” explains Gonzalo Garland, Executive Vice President of IE Foundation, adding: “The creation of this fund reflects the firm commitment of IE University and IE Foundation to promote excellence in education for outstanding candidates from around the world, even at such difficult times.”

This fund reinforces IE University’s pledge to continue delivering the highest standards of hybrid education. During the health emergency, the institution is committed to strengthening the profiles of its students by empowering them with new digital skills and capabilities such as working remotely, virtual team leadership and resilience, all of which will be of great interest to companies worldwide in the coming years.

Talent Taking of Talent has been the guiding principle for IE Foundation in recent years as it fulfils its commitment to furthering talent and accelerating the professional development of the institution’s students and alumni. The combined efforts of the IE Community—made up of students and their families, alumni, professors, staff, corporate and institutional partners—are providing much needed support to the greatest number of exceptional candidates who are unable to fund their education at IE University because of financial constraints. During recent years, IE Foundation has set up several scholarship programs thanks to the contribution of individual and corporate donors such as Banco Santander, Kistefos, FRV and AJE, among others.
