IEEE STB, AMU gets award

 

Aligarh : The Student Branch (STB) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Z H College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) got the ‘Branch Membership Growth/ Retention Award’ at the recently held annual General Body Meeting of the IEEE UP Section at Lucknow.

Abdullah Alvi (Treasurer, IEEE STB) received the award with a certificate of appreciation for organising useful events on behalf of the AMU student branch.

Congratulating the ZHCET student branch, Prof Pervez Mustajab (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology), Prof M M Sufyan Beg (Principal, ZHCET), Prof Salman Hameed (Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering), Dr Mohd Rihan (Branch Coordinator), Mr Mohd Zaid (Branch Counsellor), Dr Mohd Tariq (Branch Coordinator) and Dr Qurratulain (WIE Advisor) remarked that the award is the due recognition of the sheer-hard work of student branch members.

IEEE STB will soon have sections of the Computer Society, Robotics and Automation Society. The branch’s global memberships have increased by many folds and they have also managed to invite dignitaries like Susan Kathy and Prof Elisa Barney for discussions on cutting edge technologies.

Student members have also been selected for various summer internships of the IEEE UP Section.
