IET Accreditation for SRM Deemed to be University

Chennai: The Institution of Engineering and Technology founded 145 years ago as a nonprofit charitable institution.The IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community. It is recognized around the world as an indicator of quality through the Washington and Sydney accords, governed by the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) and is the international engineering accreditation body licensed by the Engineering Council- UK. Across the globe, IET had accredited more than 60+ Global Universities which includes Imperial College London, University of Leeds etc. This accreditation is an internationally recognized benchmark, awarded to high-quality programs that provide an ideal preparation for aspiring professional engineers. Now, SRM a deemed to be University has made to the list of accredited institutes.

IET, UK organized a function at SRMIST to handover the accreditation certificate to the Chancellor of SRMIST, Dr.T.R. Paarivendhar. Mr. Ian Mercer, Head International Operations of the IET handed over the certificates. Receiving the certificate the Chancellor said, “The key outcome of this accreditation will allow better international mobility, job prospects and acceptance for graduate students in foreign universities and alsoopportunities for interdisciplinary research as well as exchange.”

The function was attended by SRM Management Team, Mr. Raghavan – Regional Head of The IET, Deans, Directors, and Head of Departments from SRMIST and the IET Accreditation Coordinators of the departments.
