IIAD organizes a Graduate Show-UNFOLD 2024
IIAD Graduates showcase Outstanding Projects defining the future of Design
The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) organised two days ‘UNFOLD – Graduate Show 2024 at the IIAD campus ,Delhi. The two-day event commenced with a focus on Communication Design. An exhibition of innovative final student projects in illustration, branding, and user interface design opened the programme. This was followed by a student-led performance titled “The Last Hug” and a screening of animated student films which addressed socially relevant issues through creative storytelling. Rajesh Dahiya and Mohor Ray Dahiya (Co-founders, Codesign Brand Consultants) presented awards to the students recognising their achievements. UnFOLD 2024 serves as a platform for purpose, showcasing student projects that address critical social issues.
Following this, the Interior Architecture & Design (IAD) department hosted a panel discussion on “Designing a practice.” Industry leaders like Asha Sairam (Studio Lotus), Akshat Bhatt (Architecture Discipline), Rajiv Bhakat (Studio Code) and others explored the current landscape of design practice. The IAD exhibition showcased a range of impressive student projects such as proposals for the reclaiming and redesigning Mandi House metro station as a holistic public space and community-driven solutions for transitional housing. Renowned architects Vinod Gupta, KT Ravindran, and Tapan Chakravarty presented awards to exceptional IAD students at the closing ceremony.
The second day featured a panel discussion titled “Employability Attributes for Thriving in a Dynamic Job Market” facilitated by the Fashion Business Management department. Industry experts Saryu Punhani (Sase Studio), Jaspreet Singh (Fahome), Rashmi Tomar (Triburg) and Pradeep Tomar (Startup & Incubation) equipped graduating students with insights for navigating the industry. The session was followed by an award ceremony recognising the achievements of FBM students.
The evening concluded with an exclusive fashion show showcasing the unique collections of 24 fashion designers with their unique voices. Industry leader Sunil Sethi (Chairman, Fashion Design Council of India) graced the event with his presence and presented awards to the graduating Fashion Design students. Echoing the institution’s ethos of nurturing socially responsible and conscious designers.
