IIAD Receives “Best Communication Design College In India” Award By Asia Today
New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) received the “Best Communication Design College In India” award from Asia Today Research & Media .
The award was presented by Jaya Prada, an iconic film actress and former Member of Parliament, at the Shangri La – Eros Hotel, New Delhi. The honor was accepted by Dr. Jitin Chadha, Director – IIAD, who congratulated his team and gave special thanks to the Communication Design Department for their consistent efforts and hard work. He also thanked Professor Steven Spier, Vice-Chancellor – Kingston University, Mandy Ure – Dean, Kingston School of Art, and Professor Damian Chapman – Head of Design School, Kingston University, for their help and support. IIAD is praised for its world-class pedagogical practices and for transforming design education in India.
Communication Design is one of the new and sought-after disciplines in the design world. It encompasses many aspects of visual design, such as UI/UX, graphic design, motion graphics, animation, branding, etc., and has a broad spectrum of applications within the design industry. According to IBIS World 2020, the global graphic designers’ industry is worth $45.8 billion, with a 2.2 percent increase in 2021 alone. According to Statistica, India’s animation and visual effects sector was worth approximately INR 53 billion in 2020. By 2023, it is anticipated to increase to INR 129 billion.
