New Delhi: The Management Development Programme Division, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi organized an Academia-Industry Connect- MILAP, to express the gratitude towards its external stakeholders. Over 25 corporate executives from 18 organizations like Indian Oil, Hyundai, DLF, Amazon, SAIL and HPCL to name a few participated in the event. Prof. Asheesh Pandey, Head MDP Division, hosted the event and elucidated the important role being played by IIFT in imparting quality trainings and skills in the field of International Trade and other management areas. The Chairman of Coir Board, Sh. D Kappuramu and DG of Directorate General of Resettlement, Major General Sharad Kapur had graced the occasion with their presence as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour of the event. Sh. Kappuramu highlighted the role of EPCs in Making India an Export Hub and talked about how Coir board is trying to achieve the vision of Honourable Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi Ji of taking local Indian brands to the global platforms. Maj. General Sharad Kapur emphasized on the role being played by IIFT, through its quality training, to help armed force officers in starting their second innings in corporate. He also told the august house about the appreciation letter issued by honourable Commerce Minister, Sh. Piyush Goel on the IIFT’s role in helping armed force officers to Vice Chancellor-IIFT, Prof. Manoj Pant. The Key Note Speaker, Sh. S K Ghulyani, Executive Director, Gail (India) Ltd. explained the relevance of corporate training in today’s VUCA world and elaborated how these trainings achieve the twin objectives of employee as well as organizational growth. Finally, a vote of thanks was offered by warm words of gratitude by Prof. Vijaya Kattti, Professor and ex-dean, IIFT.
