IIHMR University Equips Faculties with Case Methods Expertise through Faculty Development Programme

Mumbai : IIHMR University, a leading health management research university in Jaipur, India, hosted a Faculty Development Programme (FDP), focused on Case Methods at its university campus, running from May 20 to May 24, 2024.

The immersive programme fostered the professional development of 31 distinguished faculty members and researchers from IIHMR University dedicated to management education. The 5-day-long event also aimed at empowering these educators by imbibing them with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective case-based management education.

Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. PR Sodani, President, IIHMR University, shared, “The Faculty Development Programme is a cornerstone of IIHMR University’s steady commitment to academic excellence and professional growth. By arming our faculties with expertise in case methods we are not only enriching their curriculum delivery but also enhancing the learning experience for our students. The FDP underscores the graveness of continuous professional development in maintaining the highest academic standards and preparing future leaders to navigate through complex challenges with critical thinking.”

The FDP was graced by Prof. Piyush Sinha, Former Professor, IIM Ahmedabad, Prof. Amarpreet Singh Ghura, Associate Professor, FLAMES University, and Prof. Abhishek, Professor, IMT Ghaziabad. Their presence ensured that the participants received high-quality instructions and insights from experts with extensive experience. Post-culmination, the aspiring participants witnessed a better understanding of case-based methodologies, sharpened skills for conducting thought-provoking discussions, and better practical knowledge of case writing techniques.

The comprehensive programme covered a range of crucial topics including, the importance of case methods in management education, techniques for conducting a case class, an introduction to case writing, case writing on secondary data, and case writing on primary data etc.
