IIIT-B begins 2021 admissions process for Integrated M. Tech course

The 5 year Integrated M. Tech course offers dual degrees in B. Tech and M. Tech, along with dual specializations in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

Bengaluru: International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) is issuing applications for its sought-after Integrated M. Tech (iMTech) course from September 07, 2021. The five-year integrated course offers dual degrees in B. Tech and M. Tech to the students, upon successful completion of the course. Eligible students with a first-class in 10 + 2 (or equivalent) with Mathematics subject and  weighty  JEE (Main) NTA Rank may apply for the course at  https://www.iiitb.ac.in/courses/integrated-mtech. Applications for the course closes on October 04, 2021.

IIITB’s iMTech is a ten-semester course offering specializations in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML), Theory and Systems for Computing and Data (TSCD), Networking and Communication (NC), Very Large-Scale Integration Systems (VLSI Systems), and Digital Society (DT). The course also provides dual specializations for both Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics & Communications Engineering (ECE) students. Top rankers of JEE Mains can have 100% of their tuition fee waived off through IIIT-B’s Utkarsha Scholarships. To avail Utkarsha Scholarships,  student should have an all India  rank between 1-999 and the Scholarship will be given at most to 5 students.

Speaking of the course structure of the iMTech program, Professor Debabrata Das, Director, IIIT-B, said, “IIIT-B’s five years integrated M. Tech program is designed and structured in an optimum way that encourages a student to learn and innovate with emerging technologies. The iMTech course inculcates a strong research and entrepreneurial mindset amongst students to enable them to contribute to engineering excellence in their chosen fields.” He further added that, “One unique advantage of joining IIITB’s integrated programme is that students get both B.Tech and M.Tech in a combined duration of 5 years as opposed to spending 4 years to do B.Tech and another 2 years to do M.Tech separately. Students already weary of writing multiple rounds of JEE would be relieved that they do not have to write GATE exam to get admission into a Masters programme later on either.”

The growth prospects for engineering evolution in the country demands the upcoming talent pool to be equipped with the key skills needed to thrive in the industry. The iMTech course entails a newly designed curriculum to equip the students with the necessary skill sets and knowledge to make their mark in the world of engineering.

Admissions into IIITB is solely based on merit. The selection procedure for admissions is based on the 2021 NTA Ranking for JEE Main exam. For any admission related queries, students and parents may reach out to the Institute at [email protected]
