IIIT-NR conducts a seminar to promote women engineers and scientists

New Delhi: IIITNR students branch of IEEE has organized a seminar on the ‘IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) – towards Technology and Leadership,’ at the institute campus to promote women engineers and scientists and inspire girls around the world to motivate them to pursue their academic interests in a career in engineering.

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is one of the largest international professional organizations dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientistsis to facilitate the recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines globally. IEEE WIE envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity.

While addressing the seminar, Dr.Vijayalaxmi, IEEE WIE Chair Hyderabad Section, 2016 & 2017, and, also works as Associate Professor and In-charge IQAC at a University in Kalinga, Naya Raipur, talked about how the organization is working in promoting women engineers. She also shared her experience with IEEE and motivated the students to be a part of IEEE as it will help them build their networks which will help them in their future.

IEEE member Dr. Deepika Gupta expressed her gratitude to the chief guest for taking out her time and providing so much information. Dr. Rajesh Ingle, Professor, IIIT-Naya Raipur; Vice Chair, IEEE India Council, handed over memento to the chief guest. IIITNR IEEE Student Branch was introduced by Ph.D. student Govind Prasad coordinated the seminar

 

The whole program has been coordinated by IIIT-Naya Raipur IEEE Student Branch Counsellor Dr.Maifuz Ali. A large number of IEEE members participated in the seminar which made it a huge success.
