IIITNR bags awards in Global Entrepreneurship Competition organized by Wadhwani Foundation

Wadhwani Foundation has awarded International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Naya Raipur with Start me-Up Award (Silver Category) for the institute’s humungous participation in a global entrepreneurship competition.

The foundation also felicitated one of the institutes’ faculty members, Dr. Amit Agrawal, with a Gold Faculty Award for educating, inspiring, and guiding many Global Jury-certified student ventures.

Wadhwani Foundation is a not-for-profit organization with the primary mission of accelerating economic development by driving job creation through large-scale entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation, and skilling initiatives. The core objective of the Wadhwani Foundation is to inspire students to talk about entrepreneurship. The foundation started an entrepreneurship program in 2018 in Chhattisgarh.

While addressing the program, Dr. Amit Agrawal threw light on the approach of the Wadhwani Foundation and how it is helping the students build an entrepreneurial mindset so that they can be promising entrepreneurs in the future. Dr. Agrawal added that with the foundation’s help, the institute has been running the basic and advanced entrepreneurship courses, and to date, almost four batches have been passed with the course.

Wadhwani Foundation Regional Manager Amit Singh said the foundation is very grateful to work with one of the best institutes in Chhattisgarh. He congratulated IIITNR Director Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha on the award and expressed his hope that the relationship between the institute and the foundation would last long.

Amit added that the wadhwani foundation is working on two programs, one is to activate the entrepreneurship mind among students, and the other is to ignite. The first program is being run in schools where students are motivated for entrepreneurship. In another program, the students in colleges and higher studies are ignited with different ideas to take entrepreneurship. He also added that they are holding competitions and other programs that provide opportunities for new start-ups to meet investors and persuade them to invest in their ideas.

IIITNR Director Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha congratulated Dr. Amit Agrawal on the award and for driving this program. He said that in today’s time, it is essential to create an entrepreneurial mindset among students, and the institute, from the very first batch, is trying to prepare its students to be job providers instead of job seekers. He also stressed IIITNR’s three essential pillars, academic, research, and entrepreneurship, and hopes that in the coming years, the institute will help motivate students with an entrepreneurial mindset so that more and more jobs can be created. For this, the institute is providing the best facilities for students.

The program concluded with handing over certificates and mementos to the IIITNR Director Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha and IIIT NR faculty Dr. Amit Agrawal from Wadhwani Foundation Regional Manager Amit Singh.
