IIM Amritsar Celebrates Independence Day at the Transit Campus and at Attari Border

Amritsar: With great zeal IIM Amritsar commemorated 75 years of freedom on the 76th anniversary of India’s independence on the 15th of August. Dr Harpreet Kaur, Member, Board of Governers, hoisted the ceremonial flag in the function conducted at the transit campus of IIM Amritsar. The event was graced with the presence of faculty, staff, and students of the institute.

In her address, Dr Kaur enlightened everyone present with quotes from the nation’s liberation heroes, encouraging them to make a promise to be honest in all aspects of their lives, be it on the personal or professional front, and urged them to be good citizens. Additionally, focusing on inclusivity, the students put forth their point of view on what freedom means to them. The students also put up some spellbinding performances in front of the gathering, instilling a sense of pride and belongingness in them.

Following the event at the campus, the second-year students of the institute performed a flash-mob at Attari border, winning over the audience and the media present. They paid a magnificent homage to our esteemed leaders while dancing to patriotic songs like ‘Teri mitti’ and ‘Rang de Basanti’. The entire event was coordinated by the cultural committee of the institute, with the help of the Media and PR Cell, and 50mm, The Photography Club.
