IIM Amritsar celebrates the Women of Manawala on International Women’s Day

Amritsar:  Indian Institute of Management – Amritsar saluted the pillars of strength for the institute by celebrating International Women’s Day with full zest and zeal. Acknowledging the institute’s power sources, Prof. Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Director – IIM Amritsar, reckoned the tremendous determination and grit portrayed by women in every field. Mr. Ramamoorthy added that the event symbolizes the celebration of women’s remarkable contributions and achievements in all spheres of life.

Prof. Harpreet Kaur addressed the gathering by emphasizing the women being the driving force of humanity and the future of the nation. Students of MBA06 batch of IIM Amritsar, Ms. Muskan Garg, and Mr. Prateek Sankhe elucidated their Wings initiative as a part of which they have been relentlessly working towards making sanitary pads available for the underprivileged. Ms. Gurneet Kaur also spoke about her Girl Up – Chattisgarh initiative under which she has been working towards community development and advocacy with 30 dedicated individuals based out of Chhattisgarh. Adding to the celebrations, HRithvi – The HR Club of IIM Amritsar organized a small quiz on the Women’s day theme.

Ending the Women’s Day celebrations on an impactful note, Sankalp – The Social Service Club of IIM Amritsar undertook to sponsor the education of a girl child worth 10,000 INR, covering the tuition fees, books, stationery, and other related necessities.
