IIM Amritsar to host the 7th edition of Sankshetra: The Operations and Strategy conclave on 9th December 2023
Indian Institute of Management Amritsar is all set to host its 7th annual operations and strategy conclave, Sankshetra, on 9 December 2023. Just as a prism converts white light into an array of colors, Sankshetra serves as a dias for eminent industrialists from the operations and strategy fields to break down the current happenings in operations and strategy and explore their various facets.
The conclave will have two sessions. The operations session will be conducted at 10 a.m. on the theme “Role of Supply Chain in Creating Circular Economy.” Through this session, Industry Stalwarts from the operations domain will explore the crucial role of the supply chain in creating a circular economy by influencing how products are designed, produced, consumed, and disposed of. They will share insights on the significance of a circular economy in modern times and how the supply chain is vital to this transition. The keynote speaker for the operations panel will be the esteemed Mr Ajay Singh, Vice President Supply ChainManagement, Hindustan Platinum, a distinguished supply chain transformational business leader with an impressive track record spanning over 30 years. Throughout his career, he has exhibited prowess in developing, structuring, operating, and successfully delivering multi-functional tactical and strategic assignments, particularly in supply chain management. He will be accompanied by panelists Dr Radha Mohan Gupta, Former SVP Supply Chain, Devyani International Limited; Mr Mandar Kulkarni, Head -Warehouse & Logistics, Sun Pharma; Mr Shivendra Ojha, Director- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, Cargill; Mr Ajay Sikka, Director- Global Supply Chain CoE, Carrier HVAC; Mr Bharat Bhushan Rathi, Head Distribution and Logistics, Mankind Pharma Ltd. These industry stalwarts will share their understanding of the intricate relationship between supply chain and the circular economy and how managers and operations managers can foster this relationship.
The strategy session will be conducted at 2 p.m. on the theme “Navigating Economic Downturns: Industry Challenges and Strategies”. It will shed light on the challenges brought by economic downturns. Experts will discuss the potential strategies to tackle these challenges and the unique challenges the modern economy poses. The keynote speaker for this session will be the illustrious Mr Himanshu Saxena, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, BBH India. Boasting an impressive career spanning nearly three decades, Mr Saxena brings a wealth of experience in cross-functional and integrated marketing across diverse domains such as Sales and marketing, Advertising, Digital and social Marketing, Public Relations, Influence, Design, Market Research, and Brand Management within premier organizations in the South Asian market.
