IIM Bodh Gaya celebrates Independence Day

Amidst the crisis of the global pandemic, IIM Bodh Gaya celebrated the 74th Independence Day on Saturday along with faculty members, their families, and the virtual presence of students. IIM Bodh Gaya family came together to celebrate the day with full enthusiasm despite the barriers of digital platforms. The event began with the unfurling of the flag by our honourable Director Dr Vinita Sahay ma’am. It was followed by the national anthem which filled everyone’s heart with patriotic fervour. Dr Sahay, in her speech, expressed gratitude towards the countrymen who are working relentlessly against the Coronavirus and keeping us safe. She addressed her colleagues and students encouraging them to fulfil the duties as responsible citizens of the country. She, in her speech, emphasized the importance of being ‘aatmanirbhar’ and to give back to society. She also shed light on the plan of the new IIM Bodh Gaya campus to the audience. The occasion was taken forward by the students who presented a poem and speech which evoked pride. The event was succeeded by the premiere of two short films ‘Samagam’ and ‘Dear Azadi’, plotted around constitutional rights and unity in diversity respectively, by the Unnayan Club and a group song. The performances were not just limited to pre-recorded clips, but the talented students also sang songs live, instilling patriotic vibes in everyone. The faculty members Prof. Tamali Chakraborty and Prof. Soumyajyoti Banerjee also presented melodies. The performances were appreciated and enjoyed by one and all. The event was concluded on a sweet note by a token of thanks given by the honourable Chairperson of Student Affairs – Prof. Soumyajyoti Banerjee.
