IIM Bodh Gaya collaborates with IIIT Surat to be Nodal Centre for Yuva Sangam Phase III
Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya in collaboration with IIIT Surat, announces its participation in Yuva Sangam Phase III as a Nodal Centre for the esteemed initiative of the Indian Government under the program Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat. This initiative was taken with the aim to strengthen the development of interpersonal relationships and foster empathy among youth nationwide. Data suggests that the program will see a lot of interest as so far, 25000 students have registered for it nationwide. More than 1300 students had registered from Bihar out of which 45 will be granted the privilege of visiting IIIT Surat.
Under the Yuva Sangam program, participants are divided into groups and assigned to a partner state/UT. Each group spends 7 days in their partner state/UT, where they have the opportunity to learn about the local culture, traditions, and development initiatives. In addition, they also participate in various activities such as cultural exchanges, homestays, and community service.
Phase III of Yuva Sangam 2023 is currently underway, with registrations open from October 18 to November 15, 2023. Youth in the age group of 18-30 years, mainly students, NSS (National Service Scheme)/NYKS (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan) volunteers, employed/self-employed persons, etc. are eligible to participate.
An important aspect of Yuva Sangam 2023 is the focus on experiential learning. Participants are encouraged to immerse themselves in the local culture and learn about the lives of ordinary people. This inculcates in them a deeper understanding of India’s rich diversity and builds empathy and respect for people from different backgrounds.
