IIM Bodh Gaya Conducts a Faculty Development Programme titled “Nurturing Future Leadership Programme” supported by Ministry of education, Govt of India

For the first time in Bihar, IIM Bodh Gaya organized three batches of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP) from June to July, 2024. This faculty leadership development program, namely NFLP, has been conceptualised by the Ministry of Education, under the aegis of Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP).

It is a prestigious, selection-based 5-day residential leadership training program which is open for all levels of faculty of publicly funded higher educational institutes. This program is delivered by top institutes of the country in NIRF management ranking. Currently, 6 IITS and 14 IIMs are organizing this program to overhaul the capacity building in the country.
The main objective of this program is to prepare faculty members to contribute effectively and proactively in collective decision-making, shared governance, developing initiatives, and problem-solving.

In the last batch, Twenty-two faculty members from diverse backgrounds, representing both central and state educational institutions, including Delhi University and Banaras Hindu University, participated in the program. The 5-day event encompassed various sessions on management and leadership. Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, conducted three detailed sessions on leadership in academic institutions and mission, vision, and goal alignment. Participants shared that Dr. Vinita S. Sahay’s sessions served as examples of live cases that helped them understand the nuances of decision-making and capacity building. Other sessions in the program included contemporary concepts in management like the importance of data visualisation and design thinking to make informed decisions in today’s ever-dynamic context. Participants shared that the learnings from the program would significantly enhance their professional capabilities and contribute to their institutions’ development.

The program’s multitude of sessions addressed pressing issues faced by educational leaders today, providing innovative solutions and forward-thinking strategies. The success of this batch along with the previous two batches not only underscored the critical role of such leadership programs but also highlighted IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to shaping the future of education in India. With this IIM Bodh Gaya became the first IIM to organise three batches of NFLP.
