IIM Bodh Gaya Conducts a Leadership Training Program for SHS Bihar

IIM Bodh Gaya conducted a Management Development Program on ‘Leadership & General Management’ for two batches of officers of the State Health Society Bihar, from 11th to 16th March 2024. The program saw participation from around 60 Health Officers spanning from across Bihar. The training program included sessions on Management essentials like Strategic thinking, team building, emotional intelligence, vision and mission setting, ethical mindset, service delivery, quality and lean management and other general management skills which will contribute to the better functioning of the healthcare systems.
This endeavor aligns with IIM Bodh Gaya’s continuing commitment to have a positive social impact by improving Bihar’s healthcare delivery system. Chairperson of Hospital and Healthcare Management(HHM), Prof. Swapnarag Swain mentioned that the program is aimed to initiate collaborative, mutually beneficial academic as well as professional relationships and highlight various milestones which are achieved in the Bihar healthcare domain.
An attendee mentioned that this program has not only taught management but has invoked leadership skills. The officers pledged to take the learnings ahead to their respective domains and apply them actively for the betterment of the hospitals and society as a whole. The program also provided a platform for discussions around the development and advancement of the Bihar Healthcare sector and suggestions to make it a robust system.
