IIM Bodh Gaya, hosted PRotathlitís, a nationwide competition for management students
Bodh Gaya : The Indian Institute of Management, Bodh Gaya, hosted PRotathlitís, a nationwide competition for management students. In its maiden edition, PRotathlitís saw participation from 1000+ students from all over the country. Through PRotathlitís, IIM Bodh Gaya aimed to give B-school students a unique learning experience of the different domains of management.
The event consisted of three rounds. First-round being the Dare2Compete Quiz in which basic subject knowledge of Accounts, Marketing, and Strategy was tested. The qualifying teams were sent two problem statements, out of which one had to be selected. One was regarding the healthcare sector and the other was an E-learning Solution for India. The teams submitted their solutions and the top five of them were selected for the presentation of their PPTs in the Grand Finale. The top 5 teams were from NITIE, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Raipur, IIM Vishakhapatnam, and Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM), IIT Bombay.
The finale was held on the 26th of December 2020 on the GMeet platform. The three-hour event started with a welcome note by Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya. It was carried ahead by an enlightening notion, by Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi, Senior Head-Digital Skills, Innovation, Industry Partnership & CSR National Skill Development Corporation, India – keynote speaker for the event, on the topic Digital Skilling and Innovation. Mr. Vijay Parthasarathy, Founder & CEO, InTouch Consulting also motivated the students.
After this, the teams began with their presentations. 10 minutes were allotted for the presentation and 5 mins for the Q&A round. An esteemed panel of judges comprising, Mr. Vijay Parthasarathy, Founder & CEO, InTouch Consulting, Dr. Priyavrat Sanyal, Faculty of Marketing at IIM Bodh Gaya, and Dr. Soumyajyoti Banerjee, Faculty of Communication at IIM Bodh Gaya, evaluated the presentations and questioned the participants about the practicality and implementation of their solutions. Each team was evaluated on their industry knowledge, the rigor of research, and the feasibility of their implementation plan. The winner will be announced in the upcoming week on the social media handles of IIM Bodh Gaya.
Being a maiden event, PRotathlitís still recorded skyrocketing numbers. The opportunity has over 3,00,000 views on D2C and 1000+ registrations, from colleges as esteemed as the BLACKI. Campus Ambassadors were appointed in various colleges all over the country to promote the event. The CA opportunity also garnered more than 20,000 views.
The sponsors of the event were Union Bank of India and Mr. Kamal Kalra, author of the book Leap Ahead. StraCon- The Strategy & Consulting club and FINix – the Finance and Investment club of IIM Bodh Gaya also collaborated with the organizing committee, Media & PR Cell for PRotathlitís. The results will be declared in the upcoming week with cash prizes worth Rs 50,000 to the top 3 winners and also the best performing Campus Ambassadors.
