IIM Bodh Gaya, HRise conducted a webinar on the topic “Various Verticals in HR Domain & changing expectations from a current-day HR manager” 

Gaya: On 13th October 2020, the HR club of IIM Bodh Gaya, HRise conducted a webinar on the topic “Various Verticals in HR Domain & changing expectations from a current-day HR manager”. The speaker of the event was Mr. Sushil Tripathi, the HR Head of Garments Division at Siyaram Silk Mills Ltd. He is the Senior Human Resource Officer of the year.

Contrary to popular notion, HR is not just limited to a single and uniform entity. Human Resource is a varied field with various verticals and scopes of work. The webinar served as a great insight to get an overview of what to expect as an HR in a company.

The session emphasised mainly on the cross-functional tasks an HR indulges in. Mr. Tripathi also talked about the changes in the current market situation and how it has changed the HR domain. He talked about how the role of HR Manager has scaled up in recent times. The event comprised of a lot of real life examples from his career.

For the first year students, as the SIP season is approaching, this webinar proved to be a great help as Mr. Tripathi explained the HR Domain in detail including the basics, skills, and functions. The Q&A session helped clear more doubts about the misconception of the domain. The event ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Manaswitha Bharadwaj. The webinar was attended and appreciated by everyone including the Director Vinita Sahay. It proved to be a great help to the students aspiring to be future HR and getting an idea of the changes and requirements of the domain.
