IIM Bodh Gaya, one of the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in 2015, has launched two full-time residential MBA programmes, MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management) and MBA (Digital Business Management). The inaugural batches for both programs are set to commence from the last week of June of the next academic year, 2023-24.
The Hospital & Healthcare Management programme will follow a curriculum and pedagogy that addresses the growing demand for professionally trained human resources to take up managerial and leadership roles across different verticals of the healthcare industry, including hospitals, health insurance, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, as well as IT and consulting. At the same time, the Digital Business Management programme is designed to meet the requirements for Industry 4.0 linked to the fast-paced adoption of digital technologies and disruption of business models. A significant part of both of these lectures will be delivered by leaders and veterans of the respective industries.
During an online press meet held today, Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director – IIM Bodh Gaya, stated, “Both the new MBA programmes are aligned with the mission and vision of the institute. The MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management) and MBA (Digital Business Management) will create a distinctive niche in the healthcare and digital space, respectively”.
She also mentioned, “To make these programmes highly industry relevant, we have established the Industry Advisory Board for each programme, represented by senior leaders from different industry verticals who will co-create with us to design and deliver the programmes.”
Dr. Swapnarag Swain, Chairperson MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management), mentioned that the healthcare management programme offers two tracks of specialization, i.e., Hospital Management and Healthcare Management, that provide exposure to private and public health systems through internships and final projects in rural setups. The Industry Advisory Board for the programme is represented by very senior leaders from globally reputed firms like Apollo Hospitals, Biocon Biologics, Novartis, DoctCo, and Coforge.
Dr. Rohan Mukherjee, Chairperson of MBA (Digital Business Management), mentioned that the digital business management programme offers four tracks of specialization: Digital Marketing & Business Development, Data Analytics & Decision Sciences, Strategy & Consulting, and FinTech. Experts from tech companies like TCS, Infosys, and IBM have been part of the Industry Advisory Board to bring state-of-the-art practices and trends in classroom teachings.
Both programmes will provide a unique hands-on learning experience for the participants through a long duration of industry immersion, i.e., for four months.
Call for admission for these two new programs will be starting by next week, and eligible CAT 2022 candidates will be given a 15 days window for their expression of interest.
