IIM Bodh Gaya successfully conducted their first Entrepreneurship Awareness Program
Bodh Gaya: The Incubation Center of IIM Bodh Gaya successfully concluded their first Entrepreneurship Awareness Program, LEAP (Launch-Your-Start-up with Entrepreneurship Awareness Program) on 19th-20th February 2022. The purpose of LEAP 1.0 is to provide mentorship to start-ups and students participating in the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, the flagship event of Entrepreneurship Cell of the Institute which is to be held on 5th-6th March 2022. The workshop was kick-started with an address by Dr. Srividya Raghavan, Chairperson, Envision Cell, who welcomed the guests and attendees to the workshop and iterated the vision of organizing it. The Chairperson was accompanied by other faculty members of the committee: Dr. Medha Srivastava, Dr. Amresh Kumar, and Dr. Soumya Prakash Patra.
Such workshops act as a catalyst for the brilliant psyche of students to transform their ideas into action. The LEAP sessions gave students a peek into the lives of various industry leaders and let them have a glimpse of how an entrepreneurial mind works. Additionally, these sessions assisted students in enhancing their communication skills by urging them to explain their thoughts vocally to a live audience. Participants contributed their observations and ideas for resolving the issues put forth by the speakers, providing a new perspective. The event was a huge success, and INSPIRE plans to come up with more such workshops to make students aware of the concepts needed to start their venture.
The two-day event hosted speakers from diverse backgrounds. Mr. Vikram Kumar Limsay, CEO and Principal Consultant, Helicon Consulting, highlighted that a Start-up should ensure its drive to exist in the market and must be linked with what it is doing for society. He also covered aspects from various areas like Marketing, Sales, Growth, and Team Building. The second speaker, Mr. Devesh Chawla, Founder and CEO, Chatur Ideas, spoke on formulating a business plan for a start-up. Mr. Tushar Kansal, Founder & CEO, Kansaltancy Ventures spoke about one of the critical aspects of a start-up journey. He covered topics including what the investors want to see in a pitch deck, the problem statement, solution, and the team behind the business, emphasizing the product and the business model of the start-up. Mr. Rohit Swarup, Founder Director, Explorra Education, highlighted the importance of design thinking in business idea formulation. The session covered tools and techniques of design thinking to help build a prototype of the business idea and how it forms the basis for bringing it to life.
The workshop was very engaging, with students participating in mind-provoking conversations. It gave the students a holistic perspective about the start-up journey and made them aware of how multiple processes are done to bring an idea to fruition. The workshop ended on a high note with a vote of thanks to all the speakers.
