“IIM Jammu celebrates 78th Independence Day with gaiety and patriotic fervor”  

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu celebrated the glorious 78th year of Indian Independence as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with gaiety and fervor. The event commenced with a guard of Honor, and the Indian tricolor flag was hoisted by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, in the presence of faculty, staff, and students of IIM Jammu. The faculty, staff, and students gathered in the Institute in large numbers to celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervor.

As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, IIM Jammu hosted an enrapturing cultural event featuring singing, skits, poetry, and dance performances by students and the children of faculty and staff members. The celebrations embodied the spirit of unity as Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, joined with students, faculty, and staff to sing a patriotic song, marking the 78th Indian Independence Day celebrations. This was followed by a soulful rendition of the national anthem on the violin by Dr. Jaganth G., faculty member, IIM Jammu. The Independence Day celebrations saw enthusiastic participation from the entire IIM Jammu fraternity, creating an atmosphere charged with patriotic fervor. A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of the third edition of the Hindi Patrika, “Trikuta,” adding to the significance of the occasion.

 

Present on the 78th Independence Day Celebrations were Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu,  Dr. Ateeque Shaikh, Chairperson, Executive Education, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Chairperson, Student Affairs, Dr. Apurva, Co-Chairperson, Student Affairs, Dr. Anuja Akhouri, Chairperson, Corporate Communication, IIM Jammu, Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran, Chief Administrative Officer, IIM Jammu along with the faculty, officers and staff of the Institute.

 

While the Institute building lit up in tricolor, the feeling of patriotism was clearly visible in the eyes of all students, faculty, officers, and staff members during the unfurling of the National flag at the Institute. The event concluded on a jubilant note, with the sentiment of patriotism being echoed by all the attendees.
