“IIM Jammu Commences New Academic Year with Holistic Orientation Program” 

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated its orientation program for the incoming batches at its state-of-the-art campus in Jagti. The event welcomed the 5th Batch of Ph.D., the 3rd Batch of Ph.D. (WP), the 9th Batch of MBA, the 3rd Batch of MBA (HA&HM), and the 4th Batch of EMBA. Renowned Yoga Guru Shri Sahil Mehra led a yoga session to kick off the five-day holistic orientation program. The yoga session, themed “Maximize Happiness and Mindfulness,” aimed to set a positive tone for the new academic journey, focusing on the well-being and mindfulness of the students.

 

Chief Guest, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, Govt. of India, was given an extensive tour of the campus, including the state-of-the-art library, Nalanda, and smart classrooms and also inaugurated the Orientation Program. He also planted a Rudraksha tree on this momentous occasion.

Present on the momentous occasion were Dr. Milind. P. Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, Prof. (Dr.) Shakti Gupta, Director, AIIMS Jammu, Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu, Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu during the inaugural ceremony. The first day featured sessions by Shri R.R. Swain, Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu, Ms. Mekhla Sinha, Executive Director, GHRDC. There were also sessions chaired by faculty and officers of the Institute.

The day ended on a high note with the IIM Jammu Family Dinner, offering a wonderful opportunity for the new students to mingle with faculty and peers in a relaxed setting. IIM Jammu is committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for its students, and the orientation program is a testament to this commitment. The institute eagerly looks forward to the contributions and achievements of the new batches in the years to come.
