IIM Kashipur successfully concluded the Third edition of the Annual Flagship event, Samanvaya 2021

Kashipur: Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur successfully conducted its Annual HR-conclave ‘Samanvaya’- Digital Chapter 3. The event was organized online via Zoom, and was streamed live on YouTube, keeping in view the pandemic situation around the globe. The event was based on the theme ‘The Paradigm of 4.0’.

 

The event began with a welcome of the honorary panel which included Mr. Suvro Raychaudhuri, Director, HR – CGI, APAC Soln. Delivery Centre, Mr. Sameer Nagarajan, Global President Human Resources at Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Mr. Jacob Jacob, Global Chief Human Resources Officer, Malabar Group, Mr. Bhanukumar Parmar, HR Head – Vice President, Ultratech Cement, Mr. Yashwant Chauhan, Senior Manager (Group Corporate HR – Policy & Employee Relations) at GAIL (India) and Dr. Manoj K Prasad Vice President, Talent Development and Digital Transformation, Reliance Industries followed by the opening remarks made by Prof. Rahul Kamble, Assistant Professor, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource, Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur.,

 

Prof. Rahul emphasized on human capital which is considered as one of the important factors affecting the success of the organization. He talked about how resilience is an important factor during this pandemic time. The panel was further asked about their vision on how organizations can apply the lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic so that in the “next normal” they remain resilient, responsive and agile?

 

Mr. Sameer began the discussion where he presented an individual’s point of view as to how the pandemic gave a thrust to learn from the situation at hand and he also explained about the thoughts on how individuals adapt to changes by building resilience in a structured manner.

 

Sharing his views on the current scenario Mr. Suvro emphasized the role of the pandemic in bringing out the fantastic opportunities for employees, which not only gave them the time to introspect but also helped to become more flexible in daily life. Talking about the companies playing a role during this pandemic for their employees, Mr. Jacob explained how the pandemic gave the employees the opportunity to choose an employer based on the offerings provided by companies.

 

The discussion encompassed the pandemic and employee thought process revolving around it. Mr. Bhanu Kumar mentioned how the pandemic provided a much-needed pause to the employees to rethink and collaborate and to embrace various good things.

 

Dr. Manoj reiterated that during pandemic time one needs to upskill themselves as it brings agility and development to an individual. He also mentioned how the next-generation is focusing on self-dependence and why there is a need to control the schedule. Adding to which Mr. Yashwant mentioned that people are the biggest assets for any business and that there is a need for an agile methodology as it focusses on inclusive leadership insights.

 

The annual conclave helped the students to understand the best practices that are implemented in businesses based on years of research, in-depth understanding, and significant experience. It also gave insights on the 3Rs and the shift in human capital trends to adapt to Industry 4.0, like the importance of organizations in inculcating adaptability in their employees, emphasis on economies of care, encouraging risk-taking and accepting it as a cultural fabric in the organization. Also, emphasized on how the usage of digital tools and techniques in an organization with the aspect of psychology created a lot of impact in the organization and we all as aspiring managers need to be mindful to fail fast and record it to create a learning model around it.
