IIM Kozhikode, Emlyon Business School, France, Sign MoU to promote joint Educational, Cultural Collaboration and Research

 

Kozhikode : The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Emlyon Business School, Lyon, France to join forces on Academic Collaboration, here recently. The signatories of the Mou are Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIMK and Prof. Isabelle Huault, Dean and President of the Executive Board, Emlyon Business School France.

The MoU is intended to promote joint educational, cultural collaboration and research between the two leading global Business Schools. The proposed areas of collaboration will include joint academic activities and articulated degree programs that will focus on:

  1. Promoting the exchange of qualified students, enrolled on their respective undergraduate and graduate degree programs, who were admitted according to the entry regulations of the home institution.
  2. Award double degree at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  3. Develop joint new seminars, learning trips, training programs or degree programs that fit with the strategy of development of both institutions.
  4. Promote exchange of faculty and conduct collaborative research in areas of mutual interest with the objective of publishing by joint authorship.
  5. Organize joint international conferences, training programs, seminars, symposia, workshops and any other academic activities as may be mutually agreed upon during the period of this MoU.

This MoU will be in effect for three years.

Speaking on the significant collaboration, Prof Chatterjee said, “Collaborations with Business Schools of repute is always a win-win situation where academic Institutions mutually benefit in terms of sharing knowledge, expertise and skills. The collaboration between IIM Kozhikode and Emlyon Business School France, aims at maintaining excellence in areas of research, teaching and consulting.”

In her statement on the collaboration with India’s leading Business School, Prof. Huault added “”We are glad to forge partnership with IIM Kozhikode and look forward to explore avenues of collaboration in academia, programs, research.”

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode’s International Exchange Programme endeavors to work with partner institutions to develop mutually beneficial scholarly and social engagements between students, faculty members across the globe. The Institute believes that these engagements would result in knowledge sharing regarding best practices in research, teaching and learning experience and understanding of business practices and conventions in different countries, and appreciation of the social, political, economic and cultural dynamics that impact global business operations. Currently IIMK has exchange partnerships with close to 50 top International Management Institutes.
