IIM Tiruchirappalli hosts the 5th annual International Week

Tiruchirappalli : IIM Tiruchirappalli hosted its annual International Week (I-Week ) from 26th December 2021 to 2nd January 2021. Starting in 2017, the International Week brings leading academicians from esteemed universities across the globe to IIM Trichy to impart their knowledge and global business insights.

IIM Trichy has stood alongside the vision of “Gyanam Anantam” as the world converges towards globalization and recognizes the need for education to transcend geographical boundaries. The International Week is one such academic event that provides a platform for students to interact with professors, providing a holistic understanding of the complexities of business from a global perspective. Embracing the new normal, the second online edition of the International Week witnessed great responses from students and faculty members.

In this year’s edition, 16 faculty members from Australia, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand, Philippines, U.K., and U.S.A. took a total of 17 courses. This included professors from universities such as the Asian Institute of Management, Ara Institute of Canterbury, Bond University, Bowling Green State University. The courses offered covered a diverse range of topics, including ‘Strategic Digitalization of Services’, ‘International Logistics and Supply Chain Management, ‘Financial Innovation’, ‘Financing Real Estate Investment and Development’, ‘Contemporary Issues in Marketing Ethics’, ‘Innovation and Marketing’, ‘Introduction to E-governance and Smart City, ‘Security and Personal Privacy online’, ‘Cross-Cultural Management’ and ‘Forensic Accounting and Bankruptcy Prediction’.

The 5th edition of International Week marked the participation of 260 students from both the PGPM (full-time 2-year MBA students) and PGPBM (part-time MBA for working professionals, Chennai campus) courses. International week known for its diverse mix of electives from various domains like Marketing, Finance, Strategy, etc., facilitated an exchange of ideas through the day-long engagement of students and faculty members.

The I-Week ended with a positive note, with students appreciating the new perspective gained through the global exposure set forth by the professors. “I-week definitely widened my horizons on the subject, and I have got various insights into the global application”, said one student. “It was not just the learning, but also the networking with professors around the globe!” exclaimed another.

International Week 2021-22 has been regarded as a great success, with both professors and students finding the experience enriching. This sets the stage for the next edition of I-Week to be even bigger and better.
